Long story short, I was the longest standing employee and let me tell you, their hardest worker! The whole town knows my name and loves me. A pig jumped into place as manager and literally promoted three people ahead of me and it’s purely because I didn’t accept his vulgar joking and disrespect! I ended up fired and will be suing because I took pride in that place and now it has fallen to pieces without me. Still HR and everyone above the culprit are in denial but they can’t keep a single employee now.

Pros and Cons
Customers! I got to know so many great people and made wonderful connections
Disrespected, sexist bosses, tolerate vulgarity OR ELSE! Plan to never advance, public humiliation!

The customers were great to work with - one of the best aspects of the job; however, there was not much room for advancement. Great job to start out with or to supplement your income. No lunch breaks, you could take a 10-15 minute break when there were no customers, but if you were the only person working the store that did not work out so well. You could have free fountain drinks, but needed to pay for your meals. No employee discounts.

Pros and Cons
Able to take time off as needed if submitted prior to the weekly schedule
No employee discount
