One of the America’s 100 largest universities in the nation is Grand Valley State University (GVSU) that employs more than 3000 people - 1,780 academic faculties and 1,991 support staffs. Headquartered in Allendale, GVSU educates more than 25,000 students with high-quality programs and state-of-art facilities annually. At present, the university provides 87 undergraduate and 37 graduate degree programs from campus in Allendale, Grand Rapids, Holland and Muskegon, Traverse City and Detroit centers. During 1970’s, Grand Valley used a multiple college concept: “College of Arts and Sciences”, “Thomas Jefferson College”, “William James College”, “Seidman College of Business” and “College IV” whereas in 1987, Michigan Legislature passed a law renaming the college to “Grand Valley State University. Grand valley ranked 3rd in the “Top Public Regional Universities in the Midwest” category in the U.S. News and World Report and classified as 26th in the “Regional Universities tier 1” category for 2014. GVSU is also ranked one of the “America’s Best Colleges” by Forbes magazine and placed 10th among U.S. master’s degree as per the Institute of International Education.
