Greater New York Councils is local council of The Boys Scouts of America which is divided into boroughs and districts and serves the greater New York area. It was founded in the 1920s having more than 20,000 youth in troops, crews, posts, and packs. The Boy Scouts program was initiated to help young people to enable acquire healthy habits as well as making a positive choice. The mission behind The Boys Scouts of America is to instill the values of the Scout oath and law into young people so they can make choices of ethics and morals.
