I worked at Grocery outlet for over a year before I moved. The owner hired me on the spot while bagging my groceries. We started talking and had similar past work experience at Shopko.

I started working here for about a year right out of high school. At the time I was waiting for my AmeriCorps NCCC application to be approved. Once it was, I left for my adventure and upon return I was able to come back and work with this company once again. It was like a second family, we all helped each other even if it wasn't our department or duties. Cashiers helped stock, and we got back up when we needed it. There was no I in TEAM here and that's what I loved and made it a fun workplace.
Pros and Cons
Family owned business
It was too welcoming for some employees, trust and boundaries were pushed.

It’s a good job for young people needing work, or people in school….not necessarily for the career minded.

You know what you’ll be doing day to day
