About Groundman

What does a Groundman do?

As Groundsmen, we are responsible for maintaining the grounds of institutions such as universities and parks. We are committed to maintaining the grounds functionally and aesthetically. We maintain equipment and materials and ensure sufficient stock levels of consumables. Ensuring the appearance of trees, shrubs, flowers, and keeping the grounds free from insects and plant diseases is one of our main responsibilities. We layout and mark playing fields and fertilize lawns. Working as Groundsmen, we plant, trim, and mulch flowers and trees. We also clean and paint benches and poles.

Core tasks:

  • keep facilities and surrounding areas clean
  • clean and maintain equipment
  • follow safety guidelines and procedures
