I started originally in operations in South America, after 5 years left Halliburton and moved to Scotland to work at the Heriot-Watt University as a member of the Research Team. Stayed there 2 years and was transferred to the US. Ended up as part of a consulting alliance with Landmark (Halliburton), and worked 2 years in the US as part or the Production Operations Team. I left later and have being working in E&P companies since.

Pros and Cons
If you work hard, you will be promoted. Lots of training and traveling opportunities.
Traveling may get heavy, some times too much.
