Harvard Medical School (HMS) was founded in September 19, 1782. By the US News and World Report HMS is consistently ranked first for research among medical schools. George Q. Daley is the Dean of Harvard Medical School. John Warren, Benjamin Waterhouse and Aaron Dexter were the founding faculty members of HMS. The lectures of HMS were first taken in the basement of the Harvard Hall and then later in Holden Chapel. Unlike most of the medical schools, HMS consists of 11,694 Academic Staff.
