HBO Company Reviews and Ratings
Senior Graphic Artist
September 3, 2024
I worked at HBO as Sr. Graphic Artist for almost 8 years, and later as a compositor for Sex and the City in 4k re-release. It was fast-paced, crunching graphics for Cinemax, Sports, Docus, the shows, banging it out.
The atmosphere was always good, the people I worked with were some of the absolute best in the industry by a mile and I learned a ton from everyone. The one problem I ran into and why I left was because growth was stagnated. Almost 8 years and never was able to get promoted, couldn't even side step. I'd jump back into the company in a heartbeat but only if I can get growth opportunities as they are unfortunately non existent in post production.

Hey, totally get that - growth is crucial! Do you think the lack of promotions was specific to post production, or could it affect other departments too?

They provided us with good meals and those who were out of town were provided nice lodging in DC for the shoot. most of the crew were very professional but the hours that we worked were very rough at least for that time.
Pros and Cons
Free meals and professional team
the work life balance is a challenge

I was responsible for implementation of hospital information systems all over the united States, including training users and debugging the system. I was promoted to assistant to the vice president of marketing.
Pros and Cons
Excellent Salary and wonderful co workers.
Too much travel with very little personal time and very long hours.
