Hearst was established by William Randolph Hearst with the publication of its newspaper in 1887. Today it is a diversified company of media, information, and services with more than 360 businesses across the world. Not only this, the company even owns several cable television networks such as A&E, History, Lifetime, and ESPN and global financial services such as Fitch Group; Hearst Health, a group of medical information and services businesses like CAMP Systems International, a major provider of software solutions for managing maintenance of jets and helicopters. Its huge range of 33 Television stations include WCVB-TV in Boston and KCRA-TV in Sacramento, California with 19% U.S. viewers. Hearst owns Houston Chronicle, San Francisco Chronicle and Times Union Newspapers and over 300 magazines including Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Men's Health and Car and Driver. The company digital manages services businesses like iCrossing and KUBRA; and making investments in digital entertainment companies such as Complex Networks.
