What does a High School English Teacher do?

As High School English Teachers, we teach high school students about literature, essay composition, and how to use language greatly. We read all prescribed novels, poetry, and other resources to have an understanding before we teach students. We give students assignments and tests to see their understanding and counsel them when they underperform and other concerns. We also make sure that we follow all curriculum, school, and state requirements. We help the student to be able to write college-level articles by the time they are done with high school.

  • grade student tests and assignments
  • teach students about essay composition
  • counsel students when they underperform
