The Highland Park Independent School District opened up its doors to the public first in a four-room building on Cornell Avenue in October 1914. Since then, it has developed into one of the most important school districts in the country and now consists of eight campuses: five elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. The school has nearly 7,000 students and employs more than 800 employees, including more than 460 teachers, of which 63% have master degrees.
