Hillsborough Community College (HCC) is a Florida public community college located in Hillsborough County. It's a part of the University of Florida system. HCC was one of Florida's newest community colleges, having opened in 1968. Hawk's Landing, the school's first resident hall, inaugurated in January 2008, named after the school's mascot. HCC is among the few public universities with its own residence hall. The institution is spread out over the state, with 5 campuses namely; Brandon, Dale Mabry, Plant City, Ybor City, and South Shore are among the locations (on the south shore of Tampa Bay in Ruskin). HCC now has almost 43,000 students enrolled. HCC was ranked eighth in the country and 20th in the country in overall associate degree production in 2010.
