Do not work here for the holidays if you expect to spend it with your family. From november through mid january, you're not allowed to ask off to see family. You cant use your vacation hours for november and december. After the christmas season when sales drop, you dont get your weekly 40 hours youre supposed to get, you get generally 36 and under. The people you work with are great, loved my coworkers and the managers.

Pros and Cons
Full time and benefits are alright
Holidays are very hectic and you dont get to see your family much

Is that true about not being able to use vacation hours around the holidays? 😕 Thanks for the heads-up!

I had to trained new hires how to use registers, help customers with any help they needed. Every Saturday had to order merchandise that was running low on then on Every Wednesdays shipment I had to pack merchandise out and price them and put them where it belongs, on top of that I had to focus on the cashiers. So basically running the whole front. Also MANDATORY uniform

Pros and Cons
Only good thing about this store i had Sundays off
Not enough hours, stay after closing for clean up and returns, put up signs every Saturday night

It's retail, so there wasn't a great balance between work and life. The holiday season is the worst (which really runs around 7 months of the year). During this time, you can kiss Saturdays goodbye. On the other hand, you will never work a Sunday. Management was awesome and the co-workers were great.

Pros and Cons
Pretty decent pay for the required experience.

Hobby Lobby had just renovated a building, I was hired to help set up fixtures according to planogram and prepare for grand opening. My work was exceptional and was trained to be a cashier. Being familiar with where every item was located in the store I handled go backs at the end of shift.

Pros and Cons
I loved the teamwork.

The first two - five years was a wonderful experience and I loved my job. I was in the construction department and we had a horrible VP of the department. He would not let anyone in his department move up to another department within the company. I tried and he called me into his office and totally humiliated me, to the point that I cried. I finally made my 15 years in August os 2017 and the department management go so bad and stressful that I had to quit in January due to the stress on my health.

Pros and Cons
Pay is decent
Too many for me to mention....also no short term disability and long term is a joke.
