Role Summary:
In this role you will provide leadership and support for the development and direction of manufacturing teams. The position is primarily responsible for directing day-to-day operations & allocating labor appropriately to meet production schedules and targets. This role will also focus heavily on improvement projects and accelerating cultural change efforts aimed at achieving organizational goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

Lead daily shift Stand Ups to set team goals with respect to safety, quality, cost, production, and compliance and coach team to be accountable / take ownership of these goals
Motivate team(s) to achieve goals in asset utilization, process and manufacturing improvement, quality, delivery, and cost reduction
Assist with the resolution of safety concerns and investigations while supporting a culture where safety is a priority.
Own daily 5S audits and encourage employees to start & end each day with this practice.
Support cross-training plans within the area and ensure all employees receive adequate training before starting a new job task
Encourage an environment of continuous improvement for all assigned products and processes. Advocate for Lean Six Sigma process rigor within the team and develop a strong Lean culture.
Work with team to fulfill headcount plans by collaborating during the careful selection process
Interface with Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, Facilities, Supplier Quality Engineers and Scheduling to resolve production related issues quickly and address any needs or concerns.
Create work orders and order parts as needed to support needs in manufacturing
Support overall organization in the strategic planning of manpower, equipment, and other resources
Ensure fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies and practices
Own and develop certain aspects of production scheduling & material flow to meet customer requirements
Learn manufacturing operations in respective area(s) and provide coverage as needed due to area absences.
Back-fill for other area leaders when they are absent
Qualifications/Requirements:

5 - 7 years of production or supply chain experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement best practices and deal with high levels of ambiguity
Excellent communication skills
Proficient with Oracle, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Filemaker
Desired Characteristics:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
Strong analytical & organizational skills
Prior supervisory / leadership experience in a manufacturing team-based environment is preferred
Lean and Six Sigma training or equivalent Quality training
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to bring assignments to successful completion
