About Home Visitor

What does a Home Visitor do?

As Home Visitors, we are responsible for providing counseling services to children and their parents by visiting them at their home. It is our responsibility to assist the parents in parental education and work on development of healthy household environment. We are responsible for identifying risks and vulnerabilities and work with the adults to resolve them. We carefully listen to and address the concerns of parents to help them in their parenting role. By visiting home, we facilitate the parents and children in improving their relationship. Some of us act as a liaison between school and home for children and their parents.

  • support parents in their parental roles
  • identify vulnerabilities in a family and strive for their fixing
  • act as a communication channel between school and home
  • establish a healthy relationship with parents in order to provide appropriate support in their parenting
