What does a Hospice Volunteer do?

As Hospice Volunteers, we are committed to a frequent and meaningful interaction with hospice patients and their families. We serve as integral members of the hospice interdisciplinary team in various settings, including patients, local care facilities, and homes.

Core tasks:

  • maintaining records of time spent and submitting as instructed
  • receiving assignments from the hospice volunteer coordinator
  • maintaining strict confidentiality at all times
  • preparing documents of all activities as taught in our training program
  • maintaining open communication and reporting directly to the director of support services
