POLITICO is seeking an HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. As a POLITICO HR Generalist, you will be instrumental in facilitating our employee-oriented, high performance workplace culture by taking the lead on HR communications, policy & compliance and key employee engagement initiatives.

What you'll do:

  • Coordinate new hire on-boarding, orientation, and follow up

  • Manage off-boarding process (exit survey, exit interviews)

  • Assist in action planning and coordination of HR initiatives including: Annual Employee Engagement Survey, Annual Performance Reviews, 90-Day New Hire Reviews, and Manager Development Trainings

  • Administer employment policy and compliance including: Employee Handbook, federal/state employment laws; as well as developing new policies for our changing workforce

  • Create and distribute HR communications (open enrollment, employee recognition)

  • Perform activities to develop, implement and apply compensation policies and programs

  • Help administer benefits and paid time off programs and answer general inquiries

  • Manage data entry associated with employment actions (offer letters, employment agreements)

  • Act as Project Manager for other one-time employee engagement activities or trainings

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in HR or a related field

  • Human Resources experience preferred; benefit and compensation experience preferred

  • Broad business and financial understanding and ability to apply to human capital implications

  • Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple clients

  • Adept at communicating effectively across all levels of internal and external stakeholders while inspiring confidence

  • Strong project management skills with an ability to identify and analyze business and organizational needs

TASKS

  • Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence.
  • Record data for each employee, including such information as addresses, weekly earnings, absences, amount of sales or production, supervisory reports on performance, and dates of and reasons for terminations.
  • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
  • Provide assistance in administering employee benefit programs and worker's compensation plans.

  • Sales and MarketingKnowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
