Hubbell Power Systems

I ascertained 30 years of experience as a supervisor. I gained the wisdom of respect and fairness for people who worked for me as well as worked with me. That respect was returned and as a result the working environment was positive. I worked for Hubbell as a Supervisor for nearly 17 years. Basically, the company was privately owned when it was The Electric Motion Company. I Supervised 6 departments in 2 facilities. I was also responsible for organizing and expediting all of our outsourcing for metal finishing and secondary processing. I was responsible for 14 employees at the most. Hubbell bought EMC back in 2014. The new management team had new ideas and and slowly changed the structure of the company. With that came new roles and policies. Several supervisors, myself included, were demoted when we consolidated to one building but our salaries remained the same. Unfortunately the pandemic hurt the company and 5 of us higher paid employees were let go back in November of 2020.

Started out in drop forge (hot and busy). Hurt myself at home, had to miss a couple weeks after first starting, yet they still kept me employed. Signed into warehouse as a picker. Eventually learned all aspects of the job. Was promoted within a year to lead/dispatcher. Enjoyed the job. Only negative thing I can say is that I got laid off after company wide strike. They did give us severance, but never called me back to work.
