We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Human Resources Generalist to join the Mountainside Team!

What You’ll Do

The Human Resources Generalist performs duties in some or all of the following functional areas: Onboarding, orientation, employee engagement, recruiting, records management and employee/labor relations. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Point with first tier employee/labor relations situations
  • Assist department with the implementation of strategic Human Resources programs such as employee recognition efforts, wellness initiatives, and safety & employee-related committees
  • Initial point of contact either face-to-face or via phone for Human Resources Department
  • Manage the new hire onboarding process, ensuring all new hire documents are completed timely and accurately including ensuring compliance with USCIS I-9 form
  • Coordinate new hire orientation schedules, assemble orientation packets including tracking, scanning and filing of new hire paperwork
  • Assist with new hire data entry into HRIS system when needed
  • Facilitate New Employee Orientation on a monthly basis
  • Assist with full-cycle recruiting functions including carrying a small requisition load
  • Oversee records management by creating, maintaining and auditing employee personnel files/records in HRIS system, and in electronic file system
  • Manage exit interview process with departing employees
  • Compose job descriptions and handle job title requests as they arise
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations as they pertain to employment
  • Perform any and all other duties as assigned


Position Requirements:

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field and/or equivalent job experience required
  • 5+ years of relevant Human Resources experience in a fast-paced, and high volume Human Resources Department
  • Union experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • “Go-getter” mentality
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certified preferred
  • Computer skills: Outlook, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Intermediate level HRIS and Applicant Tracking System experience

TASKS

  • Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence.
  • Record data for each employee, including such information as addresses, weekly earnings, absences, amount of sales or production, supervisory reports on performance, and dates of and reasons for terminations.
  • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
  • Provide assistance in administering employee benefit programs and worker's compensation plans.
