What does an Immigration Paralegal do?

As Immigration Paralegals, we are responsible for communicating with clients and translating documents written in a foreign language. We research the availability of documents from foreign countries and case laws related to immigration. Evaluating the equivalency of foreign degrees and coordinating paperwork related to immigration or citizenship is part of our daily responsibilities. We prepare papers for deportation including visas, affidavits, and petitions. Working as Immigration Paralegals, we coordinate with non-government organizations and private law firms. We help clients become legal residents of a country or naturalized citizens.
