Indian River School District (IRSD) is the school district located in the State of Delaware. The headquarter is situated in Southeastern Sussex County, Delaware, the United States. IRSD was created in 1969 by the consolidation of several smaller districts in the State of Delaware. It is a public school district serving the students in Sussex County and surrounding areas, including Selbyville, Frankford, Dagsboro, Fenwick Island, Bethany Beach, Ocean View, Millville, Clarksville, Gumboro, Millsboro, and Georgetown. The superintendent of the school district is Mark Steele. IRSD offers primary and secondary education (K-12th) for approximately 10,500 students in seven elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools, one special school, an early learning center, an arts magnet school, and one outdoor education center. It has more than 900 highly qualified and experienced educators, administrators, and support staff.
