What does an Information Systems Analyst do?

As Information Systems Analysts, we analyze designs for implementation on information systems. We evaluate the compatibility of information systems. We design new IT systems to facilitate business outcomes. We oversee the development of business models and applications. We are responsible for developing information systems. We create manuals and machine procedures. We evaluate the client's current business applications and data flow. We play the role of an architect in an information system. We develop specific solutions to users’ problems. We create various prototypes of the IT system. We provide specific designs and price estimations of new systems and applications. We work closely with internal and external clients.

Core tasks:

  • carry out analysis of clients’ existing systems
  • ensure that client's requirements are translated into highly specified project briefs
  • identify possibilities for systems solutions for the technical and business suitability
  • develop accurate proposals for modified systems
  • make provision of project feasibility reports
  • identify application problems
  • evaluate procedures and processes
