What does an Information Systems Manager do?

Information Systems Managers, we are tasked with the responsibility of securing and effectively operate computer systems, connected applications, hardware and software used within several public and private organizations. We coordinate, supervise, and lead a team that maintains the company's network infrastructure, data processing functions and other computer equipment. We troubleshoot hardware and software problems and play a vital role in the design of any technology.

Core tasks:

  • manage a department which includes support specialist, analysts, and programmers
  • implement and manage the security and backup procedures
  • evaluation of the systems' functionality
  • effective management of the IT Budget and purchasing the appropriate hardware and software for the company
  • document, install, and test software and hardware upgrades
