Serve as an Intelligence Operations Specialist working in a 24x7intelligence watch within a Sensitive-Compartmented InformationFacility (SCIF) under the guidance of and in support of the DivisionManager, senior analysts, and/or higher level Watch Officers as partof the Intelligence and Threat Analysis Division, within the officeof National Security Programs and Incident Response.

Monitor and evaluate all-source intelligence and information toidentify potential threats to civil aviation from terrorists,insurgents, criminal elements, and nation-states, to include cyberthreats, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) threats, and purposefulinterference of flight navigations systems (such as GlobalPositioning System (GPS) enabled systems that may impact the safetyand security of the National Airspace System (NAS), U.S. or foreigncivil aviation worldwide, and/or future FAA program initiatives.Provide information to the Division Manager, senior analysts, and/orhigher-level Watch Officers for final review.
Analyze terrorist tactics, techniques and procedures, to include theuse of improvised explosive devices and air defense weaponcapabilities, which pose a potential threat to the safety of civiloperations worldwide.
Provide time-critical indications and warning support to FAA andDepartment of Transportation (DOT) leadership, FAA offices and fieldelements, and industry partners on emerging threats.
Contribute to the support of the Washington Operations Center andthe Air Traffic Security Coordinators, who manage the DomesticEvents Network, by coordinating the FAA's role in the Secure Flightprogram from initial receipt of information and assessment from theTransportation Security Administration (TSA) and Federal Bureau ofInvestigation (FBI) to recommendation for FAA flight monitoring.
Provide operational and tactical-level intelligence, law enforcementinformation and analysis to maximize the agency's situationalawareness in the Air Domain and enhance FAA's operationaldecision-making and crisis management during aviation incidents.
Build and maintain peer-level liaison relationships within FAA Linesof Business and the DOT, along with counterparts in other nationallevel agencies, including those in the Intelligence Community (IC),Law Enforcement (LE), and DoD communities through daily interactionand information sharing.
As the Intelligence Watch Officer on duty, the incumbent will servethe FAA's initial point of contact for all aviation threats,coordinate with the Division Manager, senior analysts, and higherlevel watch officers, and facilitate FAA's exchange of informationwith and responses to queries from other agencies and communitypartners. Effectively and expeditiously responds to aviationincidents by leveraging information from IC, LE, DoD, HomelandSecurity agencies, and industry to support FAA incident managementand crisis response. Assist the Division staff to provide relevantdata and analysis relating to activity in the NAS in support ofinteragency situational awareness and unified incident response.
Contribute to written products and oral presentations aboutpotential threats to civil aviation that support agency andcommunity partner situational awareness, mitigation planning, andoperational decision-making.
Work is directed and reviewed by the Division Manager, senioranalysts, and/or higher-level Watch Officers for technicalcompliance and alignment with the requirements of the project orother work activity.
Duties will entail night, weekend and holiday duty workingindependently, as well as part of a team in a fast-pacedenvironment, and require shift work as part of a 24-hour/7-days aweek operations center.
