About IT Account Manager

What does an IT Account Manager do?

As IT account managers, we are sales professionals working for organizations that provide IT solutions to customers. We are in charge of managing and expanding our assigned client accounts. Apart from the traditional sales skillset, we need to have expertise in IT, at least to the extent to be able to synthesize key information and facilitate technical conversation. We might manage a team of account executives, depending on the size of the account.

Core tasks:

  • building and actively maintaining client relations
  • developing and implementing sales strategies, action plans
  • setting and tracking sales targets
  • actively pursuing and securing new business opportunities
  • preparing reports to other management
