About IT Engineer

What does an IT Engineer do?

As IT Engineers, we assess the company’s system needs by coordinating with the IT Manager to design new computer hardware and software configurations. We install new software and networking systems while troubleshooting and fixing any hardware, software, and networking issue that arises. We are also responsible for training staff on any newly installed hardware and software system and handling other IT requests. We conduct cost/benefit analysis to provides specific and detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation, and other tools to generate the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.

Core tasks:

  • produce monthly reports for the company’s IT manager
  • ensure the security of all installed software
  • advise the employees on hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations
