Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) is a public research university which was established in 1969 in Indianapolis, Indiana. A fundamental campus of Indiana University that also furnishes Purdue University degrees is the result of a merger in 1969 of the Purdue Indianapolis Extension Center and Indiana University Indianapolis. It is one of the seven campuses of Indiana University and includes two Purdue University schools and offers more than 225 degrees provided by 18 multiple schools. IUPUI has more students from Indiana than any other campus in the state, the leading number of underrepresented minorities in the Indiana University system and the leading population of alumni and qualified students of any university in Indiana. The university comprises more than 1,405 tenured or tenure-track faculty members and is the second leading site for research with research expenditures of almost $272 million in Indiana in 2014 along with that it was ranked among the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2014.
