JU was founded in 1934 and now offers more than 100 majors, minors, and programs, including Marine Science, Business, Physics, Engineering and Nursing as well as degrees in Communication sciences,, Aviation, Sand Disorders, Animation, Film and Sport Business. Jacksonville University is nestled in a magnificent riverfront location in suburban Jacksonville, just minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and across the St. Johns River from downtown. A half-mile of riverfront, oak-lined walks, and a mix of antique and new college buildings make up the 240-acre site.
