Mine Warfare Technician
VISTA Technology Services, Inc. (VISTA) is currently seeking a Mine Warfare Technician in Norfolk, VA.

Position Requirements

  • Support Fleet personnel at Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron 12 (HM-12) or the Helicopter Sea Combat Weapons School (HSCWEPSCOL) in the area of operational tactics, tactical training, and Helicopter Advanced Readiness Program (HARP) execution.
  • Support the development of MCM training materials and products, conduct on-site AMCM tactics instruction, and provide a source of tactical expertise during Fleet exercises.
  • Support planning, coordination and conduct of Mine Warfare Readiness and Effectiveness Measuring (MIREM) exercises. Include organization of planning conferences with the Fleet, development of presentations and documentation as needed, coordination of Fleet personnel, assets, support vessels, and support equipment, coordinating shipping of equipment, data collection on site at Fleet exercises as needed, data analysis, tactical documentation development, development and review of technical documentation, and flag-level and above briefing materials.
  • Support development of MCM training content, materials and product inputs that will be provided to the Fleet. Support and conduct training to Fleet personnel on MIW tactics, tactical planning, and PMA.
  • Provide programmatic, analytic, and technical support in planning, scheduling, coordinating, conduct, evaluation and reporting of Fleet exercise events at locations within CONUS and OCONUS and locations both on shore and offshore.
  • Support development and execution of analyses for SMCM, AMCM, UMCM, and IMCM systems and related operational platforms; current/future sensor technologies; and current/future operating environments.

Position Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree and / or Engineering certifications preferred.
  • Five years hands on experience working with US Navy Mine Warfare Systems
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting US Navy programs as a Technician or Trainer. 8 or more years of experience preferred.
  • Experience developing and documenting US Navy training programs.
  • Experience in planning, coordinating and executing US Navy Training exercise events.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Airborne Mine Countermeasures (AMCM), Underwater Mine Countermeasures (UMCM), Surface Mine Countermeasures (SMCM), and / or Integrated Mine Countermeasures (IMCM) MIW systems.
