About Juvenile Justice Specialist

What does a Juvenile Justice Specialist do?

As Juvenile Justice Specialists, we are responsible for ensuring the care, security, observation, supervision, and guidance of juveniles in residence. We also maintain the facility’s security at all times and prevent potential escapes, and injuries by resolving problems and differences among them and enforcing all policies and protocols upon the juvenile inmates. We assist and instruct residents with daily living skills such as personal hygiene and maintenance of living areas to help them become better functioning members of society.

Core tasks:

  • record and documents youths’ observations and report relevant information to appropriate staff
  • participate in program planning, development, and teaching of special interest programs are required
