As Juvenile Probation Officers, we are responsible for obtaining the exact terms of their probation from judges or court officials and instigate their activities such as attendance to schools or employment of offenders’ offices. We continuously monitor their interaction with friends or associates, and alert law enforcement about any probation violations. We also assist offenders in enrolling into counseling, treatment, or community service programs in order to help them become a more productive member of society. We initiate appropriate court action or recommend appropriate remedial action for any probation violation by verifying and ensure their compliance with substance abuse treatment programs by performing surprise drug and alcohol tests.
Core tasks:
- asses their mental health as well as their physical state in a daily basis
- gather information from teachers, and employers on the offender’s activities
