Kaiser Permanente Company Reviews and Ratings
Medical assistant
December 18, 2024
I worked during the pandemic and it was very busy all day testing patients for COVID. We swabbed approximately 2000 patients daily. I was never afraid, all I wanted was to help educate our patients with the most up to date information. The nurses helped keep things a little light with their singing and dancing in the drive through tent. We made the best of a bad time.
Pros and Cons
We were able to stack our breaks to make a longer lunch, we had a cook and made to order hot lunch.
I felt there was a little favoritism with certain employees.

Kaiser does not care for it's workers. This was one of the WORST places I've ever worked at. The coworkers were burnt out and there was so much toxic energy between people. I've never worked at a place like this. Low morale, and if it wasn't for the toxic coworkers and poor leadership I would have stayed. High turnover rate, which made sense because no one wants to work with these toxic people. Management didn't care. Definitely not worth working for. Kaiser's reputation has gone down throughout the years, and now I understand why. If you have Kaiser....run!
Pros and Cons
The pay was great.
Bad coworkers, poor management.

My experience under the previous supervisor was phenomenal the first year. Unfortunately, once she retired the supervisor who filled the position truly demonstrated favoritism and is not trustworthy and is only interested in getting recognition for oneself at all costs.
Pros and Cons
Office staff like work family, lunches supports self care and excellent debriefing.
Cliques among supervisors, micromanager, about quantity of patients seen: and extreme favoritism.

LVN flu clinic
Fontana, CA - February 25, 2024
I was discriminated and harassed daily, and was yelled at by the flu clinic nurse manager yelled at me until she was red on her face, yelled at me, I reported this nurse manager behavior nurse manager retaliated. The flue clinic administrator was discriminating me daily with orders given by her and then asked âwhy I did what I did.â And told to do something, but was not given access to get the job done. I was told by the nurse educator that, âwe tend to treat you type of people differently.â I wasnât going to take the job, but I was practically begged by the hiring HR staff. As he told me, âYou can apply for a permanent position at the job fair, but later was told âno I will ignore her application. It wonât go through.â
Pros and Cons
no 10-15 breaks given. Quoted, âclinic nurse must stand on their feet for the entire 8 hour shift.â
Orientation quotes âreport a nurse get $100.Report Kaiser doesnât retaliate.âKaiser retaliates

I worked here for 11 years, 1 as a contractor, 10 as a FTE. Unfortunately they don't have much use for a database system (the one I was a developer for) that works great, since they have to chase some corporate fad. I have been laid off (no fault according to HR) likely to save money on salaries.
Pros and Cons
Good healthcare
Place of work too far in unsafe county. WFH

I have worked for Kaiser on two separate occasions. The first occasion I had to leave voluntarily just because I wasnât able to make the schedules work with everyone else in my family, so that was of no fault of KP but after I returned a year later it was under new management and management was poorly handled. The manager themselves was not helpful not accommodating, not doing their duties as a manager, and ended up resulting me quitting because even after I had reached out for help to the union and to HR I did not receive any and was forced to leave after a month because of how toxic and Unstructured it was for me to work there.
Pros and Cons
Benefits are good
Poor management, high turnover

Be careful who you trust. Play the insurance game properly. They donât like successful dentists and will place roadblocks in your way.
Low ceiling for growth. Encourages dentists to place alloy fillings and no encouragement for expanding oneâs scope of practice. Old/outdated technology. No digital impressions, old facilities, poor/questionable leadership.

I worked for Kaiser for 4 years and in the beginning the experience was great. They provided great assistance when needed however there was a lot of micromanagement. In my beginning of working there the team was very supportive but as time went by it became very challenging. The managers began to lack with any recognitions and support. The day to day task that had to be completed were challenging once the pandemic struck the world. There were many changes that happened and the team would expect us to grasp each change and master is right away. That was difficult being that everything was remote and very little training.
Upon the arrival of the employees working from home, it seemed as if they began to not care about their employees and provided little to no support. The job became draining
Pros and Cons
working from home
no support from management or leaders and they did not compensater for added expenses as promised

If you donât work in the call center itâs a great company. Pay is great benefits are even better but the call center as everyone knows it is the black sheep. Itâs extremely hard to get out of management is the absolute worst. If they donât like you they will do everything in their power to get rid of you. The union represents are worthless and you pay so much for their assistance. To become a manager in the call center you have be a union rep once you become a manager you forget where you started from. Even though they all say they will fight for you itâs not true. If you work in any other part of Kaiser even as cleaning crew known as EVS you have it made. Iâm sorry if this is not what you expected as a review but Iâm an honest person and have to tell you the truth.
Pros and Cons
No pros in the call center
Management is the absolute worst they do show favoritism really bad

Senior Patient Access Representative
Renton, WA - April 21, 2022
As someone that has worked in different departments, I was able to see different perspectives. I use to work at a clinic and enjoyed my interaction with the patients (most of them) and I had a great supervisor and a great manager. I transferred over to the call center and ended up in a department that is notorious for how horrible the supervisor is.
The turnover rate for the department is extremely high, and as of writing this, they are 9 people short staffed, which does cause a lot of current workers more stress. We were given mandatory overtime at one point. The supervisor for this team is friends with her boss so any complaint that went about that supervisor never did much.
After knowing that Kaiser Permanente continues to let this kind of stuff continue, it sort of gave me an impression about what their values really were. I had great coworkers (that all eventually slowly left) and I had really great benefits, but it wasn't worth the mistreatment and the mental distress.
Pros and Cons
Great benefits

I thoroughly enjoyed my job at Kaiser Permanente. Since the practice was self-insured, we did not have to deal with various insurance companies for pre-authorization to carry out dr's orders for procedures, tests, surgeries, etc. Dr's were free to order whatever was necessary to facilitate the care of our patients. It was my first job in office setting after having worked in hospitals for more than 20 years; and I was able to work in general practice such as internal med and pediatrics- as well as specialty such as GI, orthopedics, ophthalmology, allergy and asthma. The knowledge I gained by working for Kaiser was priceless! The company was very generous in pay, bonuses, Christmas gifts, annual employee Christmas dinner parties, and they also gave retirement income since I worked there for over 10 years.
Pros and Cons
Friendly coworkers and doctors, good pay, good bemefits, recognition for working hard/
