I signed up with Kelly Services before coming to Hawaii and briefly worked under Kelly in Colorado, but most of my experience as a substitute teacher has been in Hawaii. I prefer teaching the students k-12 in a private school environment over the public schools. There have been situations of misunderstanding between myself and the private parochial school, but the Kelly representative was behind me and ironed out the situation where I was truly not to be blamed. If you wish to substitute teach in Hawaii, I definitely recommend Kelly over other substitute services or service. A few of the private schools only hire through their own human resources (e.g., Island Pacific Academy of Kapolei), and your are free to sign up for one or more of them as you see fit
