This was by far the worst working environment I’ve ever been apart of. From certain people doing whatever they want regardless of the well being of kids. Then management doing nothing to help with having a hostile work environment. Nobody ever take accountability at this center. The director pushes it off on teachers or the parents of the kids. I’m happy my time has come to end so now the stress of being there is over. I have seen several times either not changing kids letting kids get hurt or just letting kids run wild. People rather sit on their phone than do their job. And the director has allowed this for my entire tenure. Hope fully kindercare will actually fix the cameras so they can see why this center has been graded so low.

Pros and Cons
Learn and grow with children
Parking, working environment, management

In reality, you have a director and an assistant director. They are to be the boss's. Well, in my case every class seemed to have their own bossy boss! When "their" ways weren't seen to... it somehow always got back to the ACTUAL boss. Obviously so many, were in cahoots with each other ( the bossy bosses and the director and assistant director). Enough was enough. My school age "tell on everyone " days have been gone a long time ago. Good by Felicia!

Pros and Cons
Seeing smiles on a face when a milestone was reached.
Pathetically poor "having your back" from administration when dealing with abusive parents.

I worked at KinderCare from December 2020 to June 2023. When I first started it was a great place to work friendly coworkers and Boss. The environment was great and the children were so loveable. The pay was fine. As time went on the most of the good teachers left the center or changed classrooms. The new hirers had no experiences working with children in a center. They wouldn't follow center rules and would not be helpful in the classroom. I had little to no help. We got a new director 6months to a year after I started working there. She was great she got new materials for the classroom. Then she stopped coming to the center. she would be at other centers more than ours. I spent the last two months constantly over ratios because have not having other staff in the room when needed. I wasn't able to get my lunch break because not having someone be able to cover for me. I was terminated because of issues with coworkers lying, and coworkers being terrible at helping me.

Pros and Cons
free meals, loveable children,
over ratio, not helpful coworkers, pay to low,

I was blessed to be a part of an infants first year in the development of motor skills. I enjoyed watching them transitioning mentally and physically. I got to see who they were becoming. GREAT JOB for me. No work environment is ever perfect, but the location that I worked at, was real cool. Great job for anyone who enjoys being around children.

Pros and Cons
Watching the children get older, many great friendships
sometimes can be over whelming

Consistently violates the Washington State staff to child ratio due to their firing of many teachers with valid religious exemption requests. My words were taken completely out of context for their justification in firing me and they proceeded to consider it a “voluntary resignation”. I worked overtime every single day without being asked if I was available and COVID protocols were not followed.

Pros and Cons
Not available
Daily overtime and missed breaks, violations of staff to child ratio, lack of COVID precautions

I worked at KinderCare Field day school for 10 years. I had an amazing director for awhile, though she left and it all went downhill but the pay is horrible for what you are expected to do. Raises are hard to get, drama in the centers, and too much gossip. You have to ask for breaks, and if you are by yourself in a class it’s hard to get bathroom breaks and you never know when your lunch break will be, always different times.

Pros and Cons
Good benefits and paid holidays
No raises, huge turnovers in staff and management, drama and gossip, no breaks

Upper management in Seattle area was unsupportive and unprofessional. In Spokane, it was the BEST!

Opened a brand new KinderCare in Sept. 1984. Very supportive District Mgr. Took that KC to 100% occupancy in less than a year. Received the first ever 100% award from the original President & founder of KC; I was able to stay at or above 100% for more than one year. Great center and great teachers! Ran that center for 8+ years. After being a stay-at-home Mom; I returned to work running the KC in Gig Harbor, WA. The District Mgr was very unsupportive, unprofessional and fired Center Directors often. Overall, I love KinderCare. But the west coast was night and day in comparison to Spokane, WA.

Pros and Cons
Managing teachers who really love children! Doing what I LOVE!
Very POOR upper management! No desire or plan to change that!
