King Innovation specializes in the development, design, and manufacture of innovative products to meet the needs of their customers in the irrigation, electrical and utility marketplaces. The company has evolved considerably throughout the years, but the goal has always remained the same: innovation. The King name has long been associated with innovation, dating back to the 1940s when Lloyd King identified a surging post-war demand for aluminum used in pots and pans, aluminum siding, and other consumer products. King sensed a consumer need for these products and founded King Technology, an aluminum foundry in Minneapolis. King continued to evolve his business over the next 20 years. After exiting the aluminum business, he ventured into the swimming pool industry and then into the irrigation industry. In the 1960s, Lloyd King developed and brought to market King Drains, the first freeze protection system for underground irrigation systems, which remain a cornerstone of the King Innovation irrigation product offering. Later in 1988, Lloyd King sold his irrigation business to his son and current CEO, Herb King, who has carried on his fathers tradition of developing innovative technologies with successful brands such as DryConn Waterproof Wire Connectors. This patented product line has revolutionized the irrigation and electrical industries by allowing installers to splice and seal conductors in one easy step, and has been recognized with twelve national awards for product excellence. Today, the business operates as King Innovation and continues its commitment to the continual pursuit of innovation and opportunity. In 2017 King Innovation purchased manufacturing company Blazing Saddles, Inc. in Chesterfield, MO, an acquisition which added Blazing brand saddles, fittings, and other accessories to King Innovations collection of successful brands. Currently, King Innovations industry proven brands include DryConn Brand Waterproof Wire Connectors, King Drains, AlumiConn Aluminum to Copper Lugs, Visilock w/Smart Gel, King Grips, Contractors Choice Wire Connectors, and a variety of tools and accessories.
