KITSAP regional Library serves the 258,000 residents of the county through nine community library locations, online access to library resources and programs and home delivery to those who are unable to visit their local library. The Library's physical collection numbers over 400,000 items, and it also provides access to a broad range of free ebooks, audiobooks, and music, as well as hundreds of digital research resources. The Kitsap Regional Library is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees who are appointed for five-year terms by the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners. The Board develops policies for the library system and employs and oversees the Library Director, who is responsible for the Library's day-to-day operations. KRL provides a wide range of benefits to its employees, including paid vacation, sick leave, 11 paid or pro-rated holidays each year, and one personal holiday. KRL also offers medical, vision, dental, and life insurance to qualifying workers.
