I was placed at KPMG on internship for roughly a month. The staff were welcoming, very polite and made me feel like a part of the team. I assisted in scanning, saving and organizing files. Then, I was later called back as a relief employee to handle front desk duties while another employee was out of office for about a week. Both times I worked with KPMG, I felt accepted and I got the opportunity to witness what the accounting world is like.

Pros and Cons
Friendly staff
They were not hiring any full time employees at the time.

Good company. Very humble culture of service but at the same time always opportunity to grow. I worked on the advisory side. Experience really depends on which partner you align yourself with. I think everyone should do a 1-2 year consulting gig just to get better with project management and communication

I worked at KPMG for 2 years as a Consultant. The first project I was given was Executive Selection Search (ESS) that required me to shortlist candidates from a large pool of applications and providing the best selected candidates to the client. Seeing my potential I was quickly deployed to an on-field client where I had to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Policies by interviewing employees from different departments of the client's company. Likewise I was given projects after projects of different natures as mentioned in my resume and that diversified my experience. I got to learn about many procedures and work under one position and in a short period of time.

Pros and Cons
I learned and experienced many different HR work under one roof.
Work - life balance sometimes used to become hard.

I worked in a busy business unit that had been unable to keep a director. I really liked the colleagues from the surrounding departments, the benefits were amazing, and the offices (remember those) were top of the line. The cons include long hours, heavily male dominated and can get a little male micro aggressive behavior, Hard to figure out the firm if you don’t have help. If I had a mentor it might have worked out better.

Pros and Cons
Great offices, intelligent colleagues, rich benefits
Long hours, Firm structure

I was employed for 20 years and worked all through the pandemic on-site even as the office was closed. We were supporting the whole country doing fixes, upgrades, installs, and new user deployment. Without any warning, I was let go last summer. To make matters worse, my position was re-opened several months later. I applied but was not hired, the company instead chose to hire someone with no experience. I see now that it was just a way to dump salary and hire younger people who are making 1/2 of what I was getting paid.

Pros and Cons
Excellent pay
Absolutely no loyalty to employees

Senior Leadership in Strategic Sourcing and Procurement shows lack of respect for employees and is condescending to staff in meetings. KPMG is known for alternate work arrangements which is not granted to staff. Different rules apply to different people. Leadership has showed "everyone is disposable" by firing 20% of staff and hiring Contractors with the same titles the SAME day. Staff keep boxes under their desks in anticipation of being "let go." Work load is unevenly distributed. Ideas and concerns voiced by staff are not entertained nor addressed. No common direction or communication when it comes to advising business teams. Department is heavily micromanaged. Advice to Management Leadership needs to communicate better with staff and appropriately provide resources to handle work load.

Pros and Cons
Hard to find any PROs at this time
No flexibility lot of politics. Need to take care of employees benefit
