This company makes millions and doesn't care about their employees. if a lab isn't making them money, they will shut down that lab and the employees will lose their job, like I did with no severance pay. They do give raises yearly, do you might be unemployed that year. I had a racist boss who was not qualified to do their job.

Pros and Cons
pay was good

I have worked for LabCorp for over 9 years. But they hired a Histo Tech at a higher salary. That's a higher status. But she cannot do what I do. Answer the phone, solve problems, cover for the supervisor when out of the office, enter complicated cases.

I was doing an awesome job with 99’s on all of my reviews and I loved my position. My coworkers and friends called me Labrat because I spent night and day climbing through overheads to run wiring. I developed several new ways of doing the job and I designed an inventory system for our department that the higher ups in Burlington North Carolina approved and implemented for the south east division. A month after one of my reviews and another 99 score, LabCorp went through a merger. I received a new manager and after a few weeks he thought that I had trained his guys. He came to my office while I was on the phone fixing a computer in Atlanta Georgia and he asked me to end the call. I was sent home without any warning. The new manager called me at home many times over the next several weeks asking me how to do my job until I threatened to file harassment charges. I have learned that the manager was also let go and now lives in another state.

Pros and Cons
Lab week, the employees, job satisfaction & origional management appreciation
Location went from fun to crazy in one week, untrained management, coworkers playing on computer

Iv'e been with LabCorp since Sept of 2018 and have had a head ache every since. Their management team is piss poor. They support the well being of the client before they support the the employee. In my opinion and the only reason I'm still with the company is because no one else will match the pay that I'm already making but I am looking.

I worked as a solo-phlebotomist out of a doctor's office. It was actually a group of doctors. It was great to work WITH the office but not FOR the office. At that time in my healthcare career, I really appreciated the opportunity to learn new things such as laboratory processes and inventory as well as using a technical set of skills to help patients on a daily basis. The work was really great actually. It was much different than working at a normal draw site with multiple phlebotomists and a much higher volume. It was also nice to be on my own at the clinic with little interference from management. It didn't take long to realize however that there wasn't much opportunity for advancement. While on par for the job in my region, the pay was also less than I hoped to make long term. Even though I continued my healthcare career and became an RN and further, I value the experience I gained while working for Labcorp and for the doctors that I worked with.

Pros and Cons
learn a lot if you're new to healthcare
m-f, repetitive, no advancement, pay not great

So I worked for LabCorp for almost 5 years. In that time I got very little pay raise. I was consistently a strong and reliable employee but management micro managed everything. My direct boss was fantastic. Our site coordinator and main boss was very much a corporate puppet and would offer minimum raises if at all. Again only reason for staying was job stability and got a company vehicle at a very low cost. But be ready to be worked very hard and pushed to do more than possible at times and get no reward.

Pros and Cons
Company vehicle at low cost from pay.
No advancement opportunity or growth potential.

If you are an entry level worker or recent grad, this is a good place to get working experience in a lab. You'll learn a lot of techniques and cross-train on procedures. The issues lie in staying there for any period of time. Once you've learned everything after a couple of years, you will find most your colleagues have already moved on to better and higher paying jobs, and there really isnt a future for yourself either. There are few opportunities to move up, and it those are given more on a basis of years served than actual merit. Management is also very out of touch with their employees and what they do, and the pay and yearly wages dont make up for it. It is also a fast-paced environment where they expect a lot done due to the constant short-staffing from people leaving because they get paid a lot more elsewhere. I would not dissuade someone from taking a job here if they felt it was right for them, but I would advise them to not plan to stay that long.

Pros and Cons
Cross-training, consistent scheduling, interesting work
Management is out of touch, low pay, not much room for improvement, only surface level learning
