Lahey Hospital and Medical Center earlier known as the Lahey Clinic was founded in 1923 by surgeon Frank H. Lahey. This medical center comprises nationally recognized, award-winning hospitals which includes an academic hospital and medical center and community hospitals with primary care providers and specialist physicians located throughout northeastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. Lahey Health dispenses 1,400 plus locally based physicians furnishing clinical excellence and an exceptional patient experience in adult and pediatric primary care and almost every medical specialty. It provides a comprehensive health team which is dedicated to help the people find the information and care they need to live life to the fullest. The health center strives to be a true partner in the health care decisions made by its patients and their family. Established in Boston, Massachusetts, this health center expanded rapidly during its first three decades of operation, often outpacing its physical capacity in Boston’s Kenmore Square.
