The Lead Manufacturing Specialist will be working within the Advanced Manufacturing Lab at GE Aviation. The Lead Manufacturing Specialist will be responsible to lead NPI hardware through initial concept to final product for engine certifications and support the overall business from a technical role to help alleviate issues with in GE Aviation's Supply Chain. They will be responsible to deep dive into delivery issues and provide solutions, and expertise to correct problems.Essential Responsibilities:
In addition, as the Lead Manufacturing Specialist, you will:Project Management of schedule and tasks
Manufacturing process reviews of Production hardware
Shop Support for technical issues with in GE Aviation's Supply
Cycle time optimization
Defect reduction plans
Design fixtures and tooling in NX (Cad Software)
Program Machining centers (Mill, Grind, Turn, EDM) using NX (CAM Software)
Hands on role with full ownership of the process
Working across Design, Manufacturing Programs, Leadership, Inspection, team members, etc.
Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in engineering and/or related technical field from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 3 years progressive experience related to manufacturing engineering
An Associate's Degree in engineering and/or related technical field from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years progressive experience related to manufacturing engineering
Desired Characteristics:Experience supporting and/or working in machining processing and/or manufacturing environment
Experience in managing and/or Influencing skills for teams / individuals either within and/or not within own reporting structure; delivering results
Strong mathematical, analytical, communication (written / oral) & presentation skills
Experience in Conventional and Non-Conventional Machining (Milling, Turning, Grinding, EDM)
Cad / Cam Experience
Ability to differentiate & manage competing priorities
CTT, EEDP, OMLP and/or other formal leadership development program graduate and/or extensive proven track record &
Experience in leading teams in a manufacturing environment
Ability to adapt to business needs; flexibility in changing priorities
Proven track record of effective training; mentoring of others
Strong acumen in executive level communications; engagement
Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma manufacturing principles, experience, passion
Experience working cohesively with Certifying Agents, Controlled Title Holders and/or Leadership teams
- Demonstrated track record of implementation
Proven track record of engaged / collaborative leadership delivering results
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects with established project management skills
