About Licensed Practical Nurse

What does a Licensed Practical Nurse do?

As Licensed Practical Nurses, we assist registered nurses and physicians by taking care of the basic nursing duties in nursing homes, hospitals, and long-term care facilities. We aim at ensuring that the care facilities provided to the patients are with quality care as they should be. We register the patient’s medical history accurately. We also take part in checking up the patients at the initial stages by checking their temperatures, blood pressure, and heart rate. We are also required to monitor the patients who are under treatment to check their progress and side-effects of the medications they are in.

Core tasks:

  • administer injections to the patients
  • record the medical history of the patient
  • monitor the patient’s progress
  • collect samples for lab testing
