The Linux Engineer will support MoneyGram's customers,
stakeholders, partners, staff and overall business strategy through the
servicing and management of its technological resources. The incumbent will be
responsible for the support and implementation of Linux and other IT
Infrastructure services across the enterprise. This position is also
responsible for day to day operation and maintenance of critical business
systems. The Linux Engineer successfully executes, and tests scheduled monthly
maintenance plans to include: system
jobs, backups, patch deployment, system changes, server automation, securing of
various Linux platforms.
Primary Responsibilities
Designing, building,
maintaining, troubleshooting and scaling RHEL systems, and public and private
cloud infrastructure components and related applications
Participating in an
efficient and cost-effective Infrastructure department with a focus on a stable
and advanced environment, coupled with a strong understanding of business
requirements to define and influence the Information Technology road-map.
Evaluating, designing
and deploying integration architecture for infrastructure systems and related
applications.
Developing and
maintaining effective real-time monitoring systems to ensure proactive
responses to server and cloud compute events and maintain uptime standards
according to published SLA s.
Prioritizing in
fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Research and implement
enhancements to infrastructure systems as well as automation and monitoring.
Explore and work with
industry leading technology and hardware.
Work alongside industry
experts in the fields of finance and technology.
Lead/mentor junior team
members.
Take ownership of and
lead projects from start to finish including design, roll out, and testing.
Work on challenging and
dynamic problems in a team atmosphere.
Any combination of relevant education and experience and/or
related professional designations/certifications in this field is highly
desirable.
Education
Bachelors' degree
preferred
Experience
5+ years preferred of
experience with systems engineering oriented tasks.
Experience with Linux
servers working in bare metal and virtualized environments.
Expert Level experience
with RedHat, RedHat Satellite, Ansible Tower experience is a plus
Experience with scripting
languages and automation tools.
Excellent written and
verbal communication skills.
Must be willing to take

Cloud experience is a
plus, AWS and GCP
