Job Title: Paralegal
Location: Westport, CT
Pay Rate: $25 /hr.
Start/End Time: 9:00 - 5:30 pm
Starting as soon as possible.

Temp-to-Perm: The selected employee will begin as a temporary worker paid via Excel Partners before transitioning to direct hire.


Seeking an experienced and polished paralegal candidate to assist attorneys with various matters relating to Family Law. Responsibilities may include file maintenance, document management, research, litigation assistance, correspondence via phone and email, distribution of mail, and more.

Education:
Bachelors degree or higher preferred.

Requirements:
1-3 Years of relevant experience (i.e. Legal assistant, paralegal, etc.)
Litigation experience strongly preferred (including management of discovery documents)
Experience with Family Law preferred

TASKS

  • Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.
  • Advise clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.
  • Select jurors, argue motions, meet with judges, and question witnesses during the course of a trial.
  • Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses.
