In 1996, the Livermore Fire Department and the Pleasanton Fire Department joined forces as a Joint Powers Authority to form The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.
The organization uses a joint powers authority (JPA) model with Essential Support Services provided jointly by the cities of Livermore and Pleasanton.
As an Emergency Response and Community Service Organization, our goals are to limit the risk of fire, to limit injury and property damage associated with fire, explosions, hazardous materials incidents, storms, or other natural and technological emergencies; to prepare City forces for disaster response, and to better prepare the community for self-help in the event of a major disaster.
As a part the Communities' Disaster Response Plan, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department has an active Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program. The CERT program trains and supports members of the Community to be Effective Emergency Response Volunteers in the event of a disaster. CERT classes: [email protected]

I took Administration of Justice Courses starting in 1975 to become a Police Officer, so we Monitored the Nursing Program and Fire Science Program Courses at Chabot College Hayward.
Our AJ Instructors told us that one day, "we would all be working together on the same victim, to save their life." In 1977 I took one in the back losing my lung, and two in the chest, and San Leandro PD had an ambulance, Paramedics worked on me, and Nurses were in the Trauma Unit and they saved my life. Remember that message, when you sign on, First Responders are One Team.
I am a LPFD Volunteer (of the Year) and also a Community emergency Response Team (CERT) Member, Fire District 9, so Check out:
