I have worked for LM for over 20 years, on many different programs and customers. When needed I travel to the customers site for testing, repairs training customer. I have mentored new hires in testing, documentation and customer interfacing. LM goes the extra mile to deliver the desired product to the customer. Great place to work.

Pros and Cons
LM Has updated their work hours to accommodate the work force, offering 9/80 and 10/4 work schedule
When applying for a job on line, response time could be quicker.

Lockheed Martin phoned me while working for US Mapping Agency and offer me a job and I accepted that very day in 15 minute conversation. My previous work in IT and Business industry in DoD contracts was excellent and they recognized my worth per written documents (resumes, references, degree, etc.). I proved my work ethics and innovation with a "can do" attitude. Worked in WDC area for Satellite Ops and trasfer to Fort Worth, TX working with Aerospace production. Traveled and learned then excelled in devoted and long hours. Would love to work for them again.

Pros and Cons
Team work, freedom to create, liaison satellite vendors, see graphic engineers to produce jets,
Long hours 24/7 workweek, No social interaction, low collaboration and coordination

You don't want the story. You won't believe it for one and won't do anything to fix what I tell you. Lockheed saw me as some sort of threat to the way they wanted to do business and they screwed with me at a personal level until they could get rid of me.

I am aware of their exact plan and will not join the group in the first place. They overhired people to share part-time instead of full-time what they said during the interviewing. After finishing the contract, they did not help me to get a full-time job with Lockheed. They did not view my skills but looked at me as a handicapped.

Pros and Cons
Horrible!!!
The manager lied to me as he claimed it was a full-time position but end up with part-time only.

The job I had was to keep the plant running and the airplanes flying. It included everything from light bulb changeing to troubleshooting and reparing the entire realm of Machines. Ounce I knew what I was doing, it was a real hoot. To watch a machine start and run after your work on it is very pleasing. As time went on, my knowledge grew immensely. But, when a machine broke down because of the same problem, I had to find out why. That was fun. I also spent a few years working in Electronics. In about every building that contained Electronics. Everything from Radar to Radio and power supplies.

Pros and Cons
Freindly surroundings for the most part.
I had to be careful about what you said and signed. Now and then, I was wrong.

I found LM Grand Prairie had an arrogant aristocratic management. They don't care what you think; their model, like most Texas firms is like the Army - you are expected to follow orders and don't speak up. It was also one of the worst operations in the industry for age discrimination; older employees are not provided with the same opportunities as younger employees, but are constantly put down and insulted to drive them out.

Pros and Cons
Nothing remarkable about this operation.
Management is the most arrogant in the industry.

I was an intern and I just remember it being a pretty easy job that paid super well. It's possible that if I had stayed and actually gotten a "real job" there it'd not be so easy, but I do remember they seemed to have piles of money laying around to fly people around, relocate them, buy equipment, etc. You probably won't be working from home or be able to easily leave and re-enter the building a ton due to the fact that it's so locked down and secure. I did have to dress up, couldn't just wear a t shirt and jeans. If I could work there again I would, it's kind of like high school, you just show up and do what they tell you and you'll get handsomely rewarded. I'd rather have nice pay and a stable job than work at a "cool" company where you don't make much money and you're super stressed but you're wearing a hoodie so you appear to be enjoying yourself.

Pros and Cons
Pay, Food, People, Work
Tight security, Dress Code, Corporate atmosphere
