Lockheed Martin Corporation Company Reviews and Ratings
Adminidtrative Assistant
January 4, 2025
I worked with Lockheed Martin for seventeen years. I performed numerous functions over the years.
I separated from the company to help my family out in CT. I am now ready to re-enter the work force, and relocate back in Virginia.
Pros and Cons
Everything about the company would fall under the pros list
Once or twice they relocated our facility with very little notification.

I worked for nearly 8 years with Lockheed supporting various functions in IT. No where else can those early in their career be given the freedom to gets hands on with some very new cutting-edge equipment. When supporting DOD operations, you certainly have some nice technology to work with. The downside is they like to offer you a million OPPORTUNTIES every chance they get. In my case they recorded all my time I worked, but I was salary, so any OT was only for their billing purpose. At some point I got my last promotion while I was with them and I was gently told by my manager that this Salary raise, and Title promotion would be the last one he could foresee me getting for the rest of my career. This is company that if you show you can manage more, maybe for a short time, then they will expect you to continue supporting more. When I left Lockheed reached out to one of the platform vendors I supported and asked for help filling my role. The vendor said it would take 4 employees.

Lockheed Martin phoned me while working for US Mapping Agency and offer me a job and I accepted that very day in 15 minute conversation.
My previous work in IT and Business industry in DoD contracts was excellent and they recognized my worth per written documents (resumes, references, degree, etc.).
I proved my work ethics and innovation with a "can do" attitude.
Worked in WDC area for Satellite Ops and trasfer to Fort Worth, TX working with Aerospace production.
Traveled and learned then excelled in devoted and long hours.
Would love to work for them again.
Pros and Cons
Team work, freedom to create, liaison satellite vendors, see graphic engineers to produce jets,
Long hours 24/7 workweek, No social interaction, low collaboration and coordination

You don't want the story. You won't believe it for one and won't do anything to fix what I tell you. Lockheed saw me as some sort of threat to the way they wanted to do business and they screwed with me at a personal level until they could get rid of me.
Pros and Cons
only pro is the wage matches the skill level
Cons are you won't advance if you don't kiss ass daily

I delivered the most complex solution of my IT career without free use of the computer system hosting the solution. The solution integrated 7 computer languages, and I had no prior experience with three of them. The solution ran the second time we ran the model data set through it.
Pros and Cons
regular pay checks
Hierarchically organized so all make choices that best protect their organizational stations

I am aware of their exact plan and will not join the group in the first place. They overhired people to share part-time instead of full-time what they said during the interviewing. After finishing the contract, they did not help me to get a full-time job with Lockheed. They did not view my skills but looked at me as a handicapped.
Pros and Cons
Horrible!!!
The manager lied to me as he claimed it was a full-time position but end up with part-time only.

The job I had was to keep the plant running and the airplanes flying. It included everything from light bulb changeing to troubleshooting and reparing the entire realm of Machines. Ounce I knew what I was doing, it was a real hoot. To watch a machine start and run after your work on it is very pleasing. As time went on, my knowledge grew immensely. But, when a machine broke down because of the same problem, I had to find out why. That was fun.
I also spent a few years working in Electronics. In about every building that contained Electronics. Everything from Radar to Radio and power supplies.
Pros and Cons
Freindly surroundings for the most part.
I had to be careful about what you said and signed. Now and then, I was wrong.

Engineer Senior Staff
Grand Prairie, TX - July 15, 2021
I found LM Grand Prairie had an arrogant aristocratic management. They don't care what you think; their model, like most Texas firms is like the Army - you are expected to follow orders and don't speak up.
It was also one of the worst operations in the industry for age discrimination; older employees are not provided with the same opportunities as younger employees, but are constantly put down and insulted to drive them out.
Pros and Cons
Nothing remarkable about this operation.
Management is the most arrogant in the industry.

I was an intern and I just remember it being a pretty easy job that paid super well. It's possible that if I had stayed and actually gotten a "real job" there it'd not be so easy, but I do remember they seemed to have piles of money laying around to fly people around, relocate them, buy equipment, etc.
You probably won't be working from home or be able to easily leave and re-enter the building a ton due to the fact that it's so locked down and secure. I did have to dress up, couldn't just wear a t shirt and jeans.
If I could work there again I would, it's kind of like high school, you just show up and do what they tell you and you'll get handsomely rewarded. I'd rather have nice pay and a stable job than work at a "cool" company where you don't make much money and you're super stressed but you're wearing a hoodie so you appear to be enjoying yourself.
Pros and Cons
Pay, Food, People, Work
Tight security, Dress Code, Corporate atmosphere

I worked in the stockroom and I never seen anything like it, parts were on a roller wheel not in boxes. Transactions so easy and the hours are awesome. People and a great, cafe with t.v to watch during lunch and clean, you have lockers for personal items, and clean bathrooms. Also a 4 day week, and overtime. I was there as a temp but so want to go back. I keep applying for jobs and will keep applying.

Great Company to work for
