They both planned to start the company after the experience they had through an epic trip across Europe and Asia to Australia to share with others who love to travel across the globe. Luis Cabrera is the Chief Executive Officer. The corporate headquarter is located in Franklin, Tennessee, the United States. The owners of this publishing company are Red Ventures. Lonely Planet publishes travel guides information through books, magazines, mobile apps, ebooks, phrasebooks, and video. In 1973, Lonely Planet published their first book-Across Asia on the Cheap. The company consists of more than 400 staff members and over 200 authors.
