With a budget of nearly $3 billion, the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) is the nation's largest county-run mental health department, directly operating programs in nearly 85 locations and providing services through contract programs and LACDMH staff at approximately 300 locations with other County departments, schools, courts, and other organizations. They aim to improve the hope, well-being, and life outcomes of Los Angeles County's most disadvantaged residents by providing access to services and services that promote independence, personal rehabilitation, and community reintegration and connections. The County contracts with about 1,000 organizations and individual practitioners each year to deliver a range of mental health-related services. Every year, about 250,000 County residents of all ages are served on average.
