About Loss Prevention Specialist

What does a Loss Prevention Specialist do?

As Loss Prevention Specialists, we specialize in the protection of small and large surfaces by determining and implementing adequate systems such as covert surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to minimize loss of merchandise, money, or damage to the company’s assets. We also ensure that adequate steps are undertaken to retrieve the value of any stolen merchandise by contacting the insurance company responsible for covering that risk. We also audit and investigate sources of known losses whether due to shoplifting, internal or external theft by continuously monitoring suspicious customers’ or employees’ activities.

Core tasks:

  • develop new policies and procedures to prevent theft at the point of sale
  • conduct random testing of alarm and video surveillance systems
