Louisiana State University (LSU) is a public research university founded in 1853 based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana under the name Louisiana State Seminary of Learning and Military Academy. The University enrolled over 25,000 undergraduate and over 5,000 graduate students in 14 schools and colleges in 2017. It is one of the eight universities in the United States with dental, law, veterinary, medical and Master of Business Administration programs. The current LSU campus is located on 1,000 acres which is just south of downtown Baton Rouge.
